Turquoise Trail Releasing, LLC is an independent “boutique” media content - (motion picture, television programming, music and new media) - worldwide releasing company. The company, based in New Mexico, is focused on the integration of traditional with non-traditional financing, innovative production practices, enhanced by new distribution models to deliver unique untold stories and entertainment content featuring Hispanic and Native American actors and artists.
The company was founded in 2014 by Kenneth Segura Knoll, a Native New Mexican. Mr. Knoll brings over 35 plus years of Producing, Directing, and Writing experience. He is also an accomplished Songwriter.
In 2017, the company produced the TV pilot – “Almost Americans”, a sitcom featuring Native American Comedian Marc Yaffee as Comedian and Citizenship Teacher. The core of his class all works at a Native American Resort Casino. Comedians Gerry Bednob (40 year Old Virgin), Steven Michael Quezada (Breaking Bad) and Sammy Obeid (Last Comic Standing) are just three of the comic/actors providing a stream of comic situations.
Since producing the Pilot "Almost Americans", the company has acquired distribution rights to several projects, plus has several projects in development. "The Keeper's Secret" is schedule for production Spring of 2021. "The Keeper's Secret", along with future projects, is being co-produced with Buffalo 8. Buffalo 8 is a full service film and media company based in Santa Monica and focused on development, production, distribution and financing. Buffalo 8 projects have premiered and been awarded at Sundance, Berlin, Toronto, and SXSW.
The "Music" division (Turquoise Trail Music - a record label and publishing company), has partnered with Writer's Paradise Studios in Nashville to write and produce music. Kenneth Segura Knoll, who has written songs for multiple projects, including the "Children's Miracle Network" and served as Music Supervisor on the feature film "Sunbelt Express", has been actively working on music projects. He quickly made his mark in Nashville with his songs, "Fill Up My Tip Jar" and "Changes". His Spanish song, "Mi Tormento", has been recorded by multiple artists and released worldwide.
The company is located in an "Opportunity Zone" (OZs) in Albuquerque New Mexico. OZs are defined as economically-distressed communities where new investments, under certain conditions, may be eligible for preferential tax treatment. In addition to the federal tax credits, the State of New Mexico offers "rebates" on money spent on local productions. These rebates can range from 25 to 35 percent paid after completion of production phase.
